HOLY AM 1 SOCIETY The Holy Name Society of Immaculate Conception Church has been organized in Tyler since 1946. - The members receive Holy Communion in a body on Holy Name Sunday. The Council sponsorsCub Scouts, Scouts, and Explorers. It also sponsors Church and School Softball and Basketl Leagues. They help the Little and Pony Lea in coaching and in financing. . . GREGORYS Apr .J . sf C. n A Q Mary, we crown thee with blossoms today, Queen of the Angels, and Queen of the May --thus did the Sodalists of Mary honor their Queen on the first Sunday of our L.ady's month. The Prefect of the Sodality, Patty Price, attended by the Sodalists of the Eighth and Ninth Grades, crowned the Virgin amid the perfumed flowers of Mary's altar in the Immaculate Conception Church. Prec eding the Coronation, The Army of Youth marched in procession singing hymns and giving public love and fealty to Mary, the Mother of Jesus. OFFICERS OF QUR LADY'S SODALITY ARE: Prefect, Patty Priceg Vice-Prefect, Carolyn O'Byrneg Secretary, Marcia Funky Treasurer, Mary Bob Bouvy. The Sodality has formed three committees: Eucharistic Committeeg Mission Committeeg Literature Committee. The Sodalists receive Holy Communion in a body on the third Sunday of every month. They planned to sanctify themselves in a special way during the holy season of Lent. They are conscientiously following the Sodality Manual in all their activities.

LTAR SOCIETY The function of the Altar Society is to keep flowers on the altar, buy the wine and altar breads, maintain vestments, linens, candles, and candelabra -- every thing used on or around the altar. As a special project this year the organ- ization, with the aid of the Catholic Daughters, remodeled the parish kitchen. Funds for the operation of the Altar Society are raised by having a Thanksgiving turkey dinner yearly. Officers 1957-1958: Mrs. Frank H. Neely, presidentg Mrs. L.,C. Drake No. 1288 was organized September 4, 1938. The purpose of the court is administering spiritual and corporal works of mercy and assisting with the education of young men for the priesthood. Through the years, Mrs. N.L.. Webster has been the welfare chairman. Through the efforts of this comrnittee, many families have been helped, many converts made, and much work done at the T. B. Hospital. A Korean family was helped for six years. An official Court Study Club has been active for several years.
