5 Opened October Activities with the First STUDENT CONCERT 4... OCTOBER 5--CASTROVILLE GAME The rugged Royals ran to their first vic- tory of the season on the night that Castroville came to San Antonio. OCTOBER ll--AUSTIN B-GAME With the Castroville victory cries still ring- ing in their ears, the boys in blue and white ad- vanced to meet Austin's B-Team. Victory tee- tered back and forth during the game, and sus- pense could have been purchased at any price. The game ended with St. Gerard's trailing byva solitary point. Score: 13-12 Pictured at right are Donald Cover, Donald Bierschwale, and Gregory Ramzinski closing in for a tackle. One of the cultural projects, as the months commenced their march of activities at St. Ge- rard's, was the introduction of Student Concerts to be provided by the St. Gerard High School Band. The Band, reorganized this year by Sister Mary Clement, has celebrated a most success- ful beginning. Pictured at left is the Band during the rend- ition of Agnus Dei by Bizet. Mr. Stan Psenick, the Band's enthusiastic Director, is at the di- rector's stand. This was the Band's first for- mal appearance of the year. 1, N., Y, OCTOBER 7--LIVING WORLD PEACE ROSARY Ten girl Sodalists of SGH were guests at the Living World Peace Rosary said on the campus of Incarnate Word College. The Rosary was composed by Catholic High School Students of San Antonio, The purpose of the Rosary was to petition Our Lady for World Peace. Each girl carried a rose and wore a continent veil of some world nation. Pictured at left, right to left, are: B. Mut- chler, A.L. Cervantes, M.A. Guerra, andE . Dramberger, just as the Rosary began.
