5126014 cvxzawaff fo ijacuffkzy . All good things must have an end -and so it is, even with our High School career. The time has come for the Graduating Class of 1947 to say Farewell to Saint George's High School and everything which it has meant to us in the years spent here. The members of the Class of '47 are going forth into the world to take their places with the rest of the citizens of this troubled old planet, but wherever we go, we shall never forget the many wonderful things that happened to us at St. Georges We are sorrowful, indeed, to take leave of the friendly brick building on Climax Street that has become our second home. Before leaving, we wish to thank those who made our stay so pleasant and our parting so difficult. We extend, first of all, our deepest gratitude to Father Doerr, our kind and helpful pastor, who did so much to make it possible for us to accomplish the many things that we did. VVe thank also, his assistants, our curates, Father Bracht, Father Ott, Father McKenna, and Father Foley. These good priests have been our faithful friends and advisors. We express, furthermore, our heartfelt thanks to the Sisters in gen- eral and Sister M. Viola in particular, to whom this book is dedicated. These devoted nuns have spent many hours and immeasurable energy in their untiring efforts to make us better students. We wish to thank, finally, all our coaches, instructors, advisors, and benefactors, who have aided us in countless ways. VVere it not for the help given us by the faculty, we would never have gotten where we are today. Some of us may only realize it several years hence, but the faculty of St. Georges are the best friends we have ever had. We will always hold sacred our holy Faith and put into practice all the virtues you have instilled into our daily lives. May God bless you, every one. ' GRAIJIIATES or 1947. page elewrl
