The student body of Saint Gabriel's, in keeping with its training as future citizens and lawmakers, is guided by the Student Council. Its members, working closely with faculty and students alike, strive to maintain order throughout the school. Each Wednesday the Council holds its meetings in the chemistry laboratory. If those four walls could talk, they would tell not only of serious de- cisions, but also of merry moments. It is here that posts are assigned, complaints of the students are heard, and the annual Student Council assembly is planned. This meeting is a miniature of town and state assemblies, the execution of a most treasured prerogative of a freedom-loving people, the right to assemble and to frame laws for their own governance. School-spirited, cheerful, willing, enthusiastic- the members of the Student Council are repre- sentatives of their school, leaders of a cross-section of American youth, potential leaders in the world of tomorrow. we Lf Q.. Offered a varied pro- gram of studies, some will meet the challenge of Campus life, while others will fill the need for registered nurses. 'l'he busi- ness world with its many opportunities will attraet those who desire to become efficient secretaries. And a very chosen few will answer Cod's call by donning the black habit of a teaching nun or the white garb of a nursing sister. While there will certainly be a wide variety in the selec- tions of our paths in life, our student days will remain a com- mon bond in keeping us close to our Alma Mater.
