lVlath: A Function of Anaylsis and Logic l One thing all students at St. Francis have in common is math. No matter whether you are a freshman or a senior, your plight is the same. Everyday as you walk into math class, you find yourself deluged by undecipherable equations and formulae. Class after class, the pieces seem to fit together and by test time a semi-coherent idea of the material exists in your mind. Before you even get a chance to wonder whether you passed or failed, the next class presents an even more complicated problem in the next chapter. While students continue to ask questions and teachers continue to reach into their vast mental stores for the answers, math remains the same, difficult. Science Provides Opportunity to Understand Physical World The lab is quiet. The only signs of the activity which occurred during the day lie now as remnants, scattered across desks, floor and board. Chipped beakers, rusty ring stands, half-erased equations, dirty test tubes, nearly dissected frogs, and rising yeast- are all stepping stones to scientific understanding of our world. In our laboratories, Knights explore vast new horizons through practical experience. ,,-M ,. I X59' Fr. IVlcLernan: Physics. lVlr. Thompson shows seniors that physics can be fun. 24 W 'MG iii ij
