The chapel and the library in Xavier Hall can be seen behind the Foster Street entrance to Saint Xavier Academy. A side view of Mercy Hall shows the typing room and other classrooms. The campus of the academy is shown with the statue of Our Lady in the foreground, with Mercy and Xavier Halls in the rear. These are the halls we know and love. The theme of our annual thus expresses a strong, heartfelt prayer. I have called America a providential nation, Archbishop Ireland once wrote, I believe that a divine mission has been assigned to the United States of America . . . a mission to prepare the world for the universal reign of human liberty and human rights. America does not live for herself aloneg the destinies of humanity are in her keeping. It is our prayer that this nation, under God, may influence the destinies of nations and men into paths of peace. P' , 0 This building, situated on Foster Street, houses the chapel where the faculty at Saint Xavier's and the other Sisters who live in the con- vent worship their Creator. Located beneath the chapel is the school library.
