Patricia Dunphy, Senior One Barbara Carlin, Senior Two Whatsoever H hall s y to ou, do ye. AJOHN 2 5 When they have known classmates for three years, seniors are expected to select as their class president a girl who not only has average scholastic ability, but also poise, reliability, personality, and leadership. Besides these qualities she must be able to accept any kind of responsibility and work when- ever it is given to her. Leadership is an important character- istic which must be present in a president. Being generous and cooperative are essential in order to hold this office since the president must assist on the dance committees. She must supervise class projects and charitable projects such as col- lecting old clothes, filling baskets for Christmas or Thanks- giving charity. Senior presidents are prominent in all social events. These girls participate on class day during the crowning of Our Lady on the campus as attendants to the president of the student body. They are honored when at assemblies they in- troduce the speakers. Included in the presidents' duties are the planning and di- recting of class meetings. The order of the class and continu- ation of the lesson is left to the president, if the teacher is unavoidably delayed from a class. Presidents still find time for extra-curricular activities besides fulfilling all the above requirements. Patricia Dunphy, Senior One, member of Glee Club and World Affairs Forum, wishes to become an elementary teacher. Planning to have a nursing career interests Barbara Carlin, Senior Two. Carmella Rossi, Senior Three, enjoys attending football games. Dolores Smith, Senior Four, and Ann McGurn, Senior Five, like dancing 1 when time permits. Carolyn Murphy, Senior Six, enioys good basketball games.
