to the Sacred Heart Channels of Devotion Gladly we'll welcome Thee, Sweet Heart ol' Alesus. We will enthrone 'I'hee and make Thee our King. Reign in our hearts and our homes, Heart of jesus. Reign, King ol Love, and Thy love to us bring. How many, many times during the year that has just been completed have our hearts be- come atune and been fired by these words on our lips! It was thrilling to hear the voices of over one thousand girls alive with enthu- siasm and glorious meaning as they promised the Sacred Heart a reign in their hearts, in their homes. Reign in our school! The chorus broke over the assembly, verbal- ly now, as St. Xavier's students dedicated their school year solemnly to the Sacred Heart of Iesus. Reign in our homes! VVould the heart of Father Mateo, SS. CC., thrill at that echo and re-echo so many times this year? For rededication of the home and solenm enthronement therein of the Sacred Heart was given a new impetus in recent years under the zealous guidance and labor of this holy priest. Over twenty years ago, the plan was the inspiration of Father Mateo, SS. CC., a member of the congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary when, being seriously ill, the priest had visited a famous shrine of the Sacred Heart in France, to pray for the grace of a happy death. Instead, he was immediately cured, and in consequence, is spending the rest ol' his life spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart in the home. stressing particularly night ado- ration.
