Qlieme The heart of M ary, moved by earnest prayer, W'ill scatter grace and sweetness e1'erywhere. In looking back over our tour joyful years at Saint Francis, we recall run- ning through the gate many times, as the bell was ringing, but always we would stop, no matter how late we were, to put our hand in lvIary's, as we passed her statue in the yard. - O, Mary, how patiently you have stood and waited for our handclasp on cold winter days or under blistering summer skies! Hand in hand with us you have come through our high school days! How kindly you have guided us through trials and disappointments to joys and victories. You see, dear Mother, the calamities, the tribulations that surround us. Hs you are our Mother, We count on you as an advocate for us, on our journey through the years ahead. Your dominion reaches to the heavens, and you are omnipotent through grace. Help us, your childreng give peace to human society and victory to the cause of religion. In the words of His Eminence Francis Cardinal Spellman: Holy Mary, Mother of God, Gate of Heaven, -Mother of Mankind, pray for usg deign to enfold us within thy mantleg be for us a shield from sin and from the agony of sorrow which sin has wrought upon the world, grant unto us, O beloved Pro- tectress, Mary, Mother of Mankind, the blessing and joy of peace on earth and ever- lasting peace in thy Son, our Divine Redeemer, the Prime of Peace! 1300 days' indulgence! -JOAN RYAN
