egion o ary As little children, we were told prayers to Mary would obtain from her Son our special intentions. Legionnaires honor her weekly with a meeting of prayer and thanksgiving and an hour of charitable works, i.e., visiting the hospitalized and the blind, making rosaries, etc. The Legion has so influenced Xavierites that this year over eleven dozen dolls were dressed for Christmas distribution among less fortunate children. lt is our joy, the praesiclium, Mater lNIisericordiae, has been inaugurated by the alumnae in order that our graduates may always be as little children to Mary. During Christmas time the girls gave generously to help support the little ones of China and the Lenten mite boxes were filled to capacity. Cqlze Gourler The sound of school dismissal bell on Monday afternoon is the signal that precipitates a rush to Courier meet- ings, where juniors and seniors assem- ble to plan and publish the school paper. The casual observer would notice a bevy of girls, searching for possible news items, giggling over a preview of Tiny Types, or industrious- ly scanning copy in search of error. The Courier has been, for many of us, the means of furthering an am- bition, by helping us to bridge the gap between learning and teaching, receiv- ing and giving.
