Our Editor Ruth Arakaki works with a smile. N742 ZOMAQCJOMP . With the aim of producing a good yearbook filled with memories and records of high school life, of our classmates and our Alma Mater, the Troubadour staff has tried to make The Trouba- dour, 1952 a better production than all its pre- decessors. We worked hard and well, made sacrificesg we tried to use prudence and good judgment in all our decisions, and hope that we have reached some measure of success for our eflorts. N Barbara, Shirley, and Catherine are production and business managers.

0 Avg fogeflef . With fond good-byes and memories fresh in her mind of lazy or busy summer months, a typical resident student adjusts herself to a new temporary home and a new routine. Surround- ings and duties at first unfamiliar become a part of her. A life at St. Francis under the loving guid- ance of Sister Consolata is an arrangement where to live is to learnf' A resident student learns the gentle qualities of a well mannered lady, the ability to give and take, to forget herself in practicing consideration for others, and she applies these virtues. Thus she grows more like Our Lady in goodness and charm. Attendance at Daily Mass estab- lishes contact with God as the essence of her resident life. Frequent study periods insure opportu- nity for scholastic development. Of course, all is not work! There is Manoa stream for swimming under supervision, a spacious campus for outdoor fun, and ample equipment for both outdoor and indoor games. Nor is social life neglected. With parental approval the belles of St. Francis receive their prom dates at the front door after interested and efficient assistance in preparation, from fellow resident students. So goes the life of a boarder. It is a life safeguarded by supervision and rules, but a happy and fruitful life for those who share it. One of the privileges of boarding is the opportunity for frequent use of chapel. Daily we say the Rosary together and in Lent we have our Stations of the Cross.
