Class of lQ53 With the motto Words teach, examples drawn before them the Sophomores have swept aside the hurdles of their first and second years to face still higher ones, which will culminate in final triumph in 1953. As Freshmen they chose lavender and white for their banner, the beautiful white carnation for their class flower, and Our Lady, Queen of the Franciscan Order to guide them. Many successful projects such as collecting funds for the new school and far- away missions proved the girls' ambition to become true Franciscan leaders and Catholic citizens of tomorrow.
