,,A ,, l '-s med-Surg III In Med-Surg Ill the students are taught the pre-op and post-op care of patients. They spend two weeks in the operating room learn- ing sterile techniques and principles of surgery. Each student is assigned a patient to care for atleast two Weeks. The student goes to surgery with the patient and cares for them post-op. A complete care plan is done on this patient. Norma Hock prepares injection for patient as Mrs. Dusek Watches. Students also spent one week in the recovery room where they learned immediate post- op care. Students listen very attentively to an aftemoon lecture. 511

..w..,,, .fwx psychiatric nursing Psychiatric Nursing is a senior rotation. Here, students leave their former concen tration on physical care and become more aware of the psychological aspect of per- sonality development and an awareness of good mental health principles. Students spend time interacting with patients. This interaction takes many forms as playing pool, pingpong, going on recreational therapy trips with patients, and verbal exchanges.
