med-Surg I In this rotation the students study various conditions involving the nervous system and conditions of the eye and ear. They spent one morning at the eye or ear clinic Where they observed examinations made by the doctor. They also made visits to homes of spastic and retarded children. The kids en- joyed having us come. One week was spent working in the dressing cart room. The students went with one of the nurses working in this area. med-Surg II In Med-Surg. II We learn about cardiovascu- lar disease, diseases of the respiratory system, and orthopedics. Included in this rotation was one Week of study and practice in the IV room and phy- sical therapy. Both areas proved to be in- teresting and enjoyable. One day was spent in the Inhalation Therapy Department. In addition to these areas one week was spent in the coronary care units, where we learned to give special care to these critical patients. Here students are taught to read moniters in the coronary care unit. Deanna Moos decides to try out IPPB Machine. Debbie Fuller demonstrates hot wax bath in physical therapy.
