ALL-STAR Bill Shcbesta, winner of the Father Beix trophy. W5? That noise? Those cheers? The grunts and Whistles and moans? They are born in the gym this evening, and the excuse is All- Star night. League play-offs are saved for this exciting evening, and no quarter is given At the end of the howling, we know the top dog. It's a knock-out night and a happy invention. Incidentally the award of the year, given to an all-around sportsman and gentleman, is the Father John R. Bcix Memorial award.This year it was earned by William Shebesta, a hrs: college student.

. The urge of youth to flex its senlors muscles and test its strength against that of others is as strong here as 958 C ha m p8 anywhere. It is apparent in the sports about the campus. It is nowhere more apparent than in the bruising action on the football field. Each year it is the traditional duty of Father Ricdel to initiate the sea- son with the first kickoff. Once that ball is off the fotty-yard line, the season, with all its tunts and hero- ics and regrets 3.an inspiration, is underway. The major league began bravely and optimistically with three teams, but injuries and studies cut the com- petition down to two teams. The teams of Bob Hesse and Mike Iggulden at length combined to take the name of Iggulden's Juniors. It is dismal to report that the Juniors lost each game to the Seniors; one bright spot was a 58 yard run by Mike Iggulden, scoring the only touchdown of the year for the Jun- iors.
