March 20th's arrival of our new bishop on His Excellency celebrated a Pontifical High his first Archbishop's Day. Mass on behalf of the students. We've been honored this year by visits from the hierarchy. The first occasion was not Without its melancholy, for it was to say goodbye to one whom we all loved, the Most Rev. Albert G. Meyer Cleft pictureD. One evening there strode into chapel after rosary devotions a swarthy-complected gentleman whose regalia meant only one thing: he was a man who enjoyed the fulness of the priesthood. He proved to be Bishop David of India. Passing through the vi- cinity, he decided to visit the diocesan seminary, and the boys were delighted to hear from India Cright pictureD. And on March 20 appeared our new Archbishop, who came armed with a spontaneous smile, a stirring sermon, and a friend- liness which captured everyone. He spoke at the Mass he offered for the welfare of the students, he appeared in the stud hall to accept a s iritual bou net, and then ewhile all gas e n he an- nounced t at he inten ed to meet each boy resent. he faculty abandoned the study hall and left the Archgishop at the mercy of student enthusiasm, but this time the students met their match: the Archbisho was just as lively, just as trigger-quick, and- more willing to s ake hands than that social octopus, the student body. He spoke to all; he signed numerous missals; and he left with a great prize in his possession: the heart of the stu- dent body. We will in the future anticipate his every visit. Pnocession from Mass. Professor Rueping was Knight escort to the bishop.

Byzantine Mass October 15 was a busy day f0 the Mission Society. Spiritu salesmen put pressure on the st dents with abandon, since the felt their motives, like Caesar' wife, were above suspicion; an no wonder about it, they got m terial-minded. There is a tinkle i the celestial treasury, though, 5 this is a kind of balm. Minute treasurer's report, communit song, and a lively band all pr ceded the speaker, Father Austi Mohrbacher. Incidentally, Fath- is a priest of the Byzantine Rit and he closed the morning wit the Sacrifice of the Mass in th rite. The afternoon was giv over to a movie. Missions Days Fr. Greene Relates Red Torture Another meeting of the unit was held on the evening of November 25. For this occasion Father Hickey managed to secure the services of famous Father Greene, author of CALVARY IN CHINA, and one of the notable figures to come from that dis- turbed area of our world.
