camera club The camera craze is national, and we at the seminary could not expect to escape it. It's a good bit of fortune that we did not, actually, because of the valuable work done by the students in this group. Born of their hours of mole-like labor are hundreds of reproductions which students purchase to stuff away in their countless pockets and luggage. Here are developed the materials which are used at times by the school for its records. Here the Via manages to do most of its task in creating an annual. The Camera Club is Father Kasten's care, and is developing fast. It looks like a comet. Backtrow: D. Krejci, R. Sprader, M. Kessenich, J. King, J. Hossli, E. Hollfeldct. Second row: E. Kovara, R. Szymborski, G. Spitz, J Thompson, D. Kinney, R. Hughs. Seated: Donald Pike, President; William Schacr, Secretary; John Wald- baucr, Treasurer. Printing Father Edward Kasten Camera Club Moderator.

Saint James Literary Society Michael Josten CSeniarY A weekly Wednesday meeting of the society. Most of us can remember the first time we faced an audi- ence on a formal occasion. The memory is usually unset- tling. For a student of God's priesthood, this experience is necessary, because he will have many audiences to front, and he will have many unsettling experiences before audiences before he dies. Hence, the sooner he is baptized the better. Our scene of this common a my is the gymnasium, and it could recall tales of a hundreg gulps, fears, memory-lapses, and successes. What Demosthenes are born here only the re- cording angel can likely recount. But the memories of good times as well as bad, of rich and informative meetin s as well as boring ordeals, are the treasures of hundrefs of alumni. The St. James Literary Society, now well over a Father Milton J- Kelly hundred years old, is a proud organization with a notable Maderator membership. While the student might perhaps be a reluc- tant participant, he is nevertheless a proud member. iCatholic Knights' Speech Contest finalists. Page 59
