Anyone who thinks that the seminary choir is committed to singing only Gregorian chant just doesn't know what he's talking about. Chant is sung, and well. But the careful listener will hear music ancient, medieval, and modern. He will hear unison, two-, three- and fout-part polyphony, and hcamocfihony. And he will decide that the choir has a respectable repertoire in cc . The tenors and basses will be found hard at work for most of the chapel exercises. Lots of preparation goes into the fine presentation. A special group, the Schola Cantorum, prepares the propers of the Mass. Father Robert Mueller works over the larger group with more detailed ractice, and the boys are honed to an edge for their appearances. IncidentallD , their appearances are not limited to the chapel. Whenever there is a school ro- gmm, like as not you'll find the choir making at'contribution to the occasxon. They exceeded themselves this last year. On November 2 they provided the music for a religious program on WTMJ-TV. Autographs, anyone?
