school keepers Very quietly, Hank Frederick goes about his work. He's an able workman, and he does things carefully and thoroughly. All know of his amiabil- ity and respectful manner. Hank always has a word of greeting and his hand is swift to go to his hat, to pay the courtesy of a gentleman. Page 14 Service with a smile is as insincere as veneer most places. But not at St. Francis, because HHerb Wolf, the sunshine of the office, never lets shadows appear on his face hbut he must have shadows; he's hu- manD. Herb is a kind of object lesson to the students and facult ; he's dedicated, industrious, and depenciIable. Best of all, heis ours. Motherhood, as anyone who knows anything about the matter can tell you, is largely a spiritual concern, not a physical one. All the good things a mother re resents are spiritual: manners, dedica- tion, kin ness, unselfish service, God-motivated love, and a litany of other riches. The mothers of the seminary are the sisters, who work under con- ditions that only love could make tolerable. With- out the sisters, the seminary would be a bleak place; their ingenious and inventive kindnesses s'park life here at the sem, arid all of us cannot clap loud enough, or pray often enou h, for these great women, whom someday God wi l richly reward.
