Very Reverend Louis E. Riedel, M.A. Played by ear. Father opens the football season. Into the Rector's office come the troubles of the seminary: the occasional discipline problems that get to the higher echelon, the transfer students. the maze of adminis- tration involvements. and the stray student who has a personal problem that must go upstairs. With all of these, and with other complications, the Very Reverend Louis E. Riedel manages to deal. and to maintain a composure and amiability that is remark- able under the circumstances. Such is the power of long habit, more properly called virtue. We can only hope. God willing, that Father Riedel can stand the wear, for he wears well. Page 5

The other is infirmar- ian, boiler-tender, care-taker, joannes-fac-totum, and general overseer. They are never seen together, giving the impression that they are one. But this is an illusion.
