The Saints' first test was against Redmond. The second half found the two teams fighting for the lead, and regula- tion time ended with both teams in deadlock. A foul in the last three seconds called on the Saints saw Ontario take the game by a 61-59 count. In the battle for the third-place position against Coquille, the Saints lost a heartbrealcer to the lied Devils, 57-56, again on a last second foul. They wound up in the fourth-place position. Stew flobertson's scoring efforts in the three games 21,32, and 24 points earned him the center spot on the All-State first team.
