Ee geee as ice? ian This year's Lancer Boys Swim Team had a great season. Led by four seniors-Mike Lenartz, Chris Murphy, Kevin Gerry, and Dave Specht had an overall record of nine wins and one loss. The only Lancer loss was to Bellarmine, the second place team at C.C.S. Non-league wins included Woodside and Oak Grove, who were the league champions at their individual leagues. The Lancers won their only Invitational meet at Oak Grove, a meet that they had been trying to win for several years. Coach Steve Duke Yamamoto led the Dun- kers from a second place finish in the WCAL finals to the CCS meet. At the CCS meet, Kevin Gerry gained All American honors with his third place swim in the 100 Breaststroke . john james won the Frosh-Soph 500 free. Chris Murphy placed in the consolation finals of the Varsity 100 fly, and Scott Geerts placed in the consolation finals at the Frosh-Soph 50 free. Kevin Cierry was the Most Valuable Varsity Team member, and Dan Van Dyke was given the Most Improved Award. Dave Specht received honorable mention as team captain. Coach Yamamoto summed up Lancer performance by announcing, This years' team has had the best overall record and season of any preceeding St. Francis Swim Team. laws? lt's a bird, it's a plane, it's .. . 78 Boys' Swimming Eggeee

Tennis teams had a very successful year, Varsity posting a record of six wins and six losses in league and l.V. posting a record of seven wins and four losses in their nonleague matches. Three players: Kevin Burns, joel Ahern and Bob Griffin were named All League.
