Ee Seeeeej gee The girl's swim team coached by Steve Yamamoto and Catherine Combs had an im- pressive season as 12 out of 21 school records were broken and 19 girls qualified for CCS. Led by team captains Mary Dougherty and Theresa O'Neill, the varsity girls had a league record of 7-3, which put them in fourth place. The frosh-soph team proved their strength by placing second in league with a record of 8-2. aeea iaex aaa Eaaa Se Eeee This year's Girls Tennis team was coached by Ms, Candace Osterman and Ms. Patricia Sullivan. Led by Anne Kerwin in the number 1 singles position, they started off the season with an impressive 'I1-1 win over Sacred Heart. In the high point of the ' year, the girls defeated long time rival Gunn High 5-2, a first for Saint Francis. Losing only to Awalt and Los Altos, the varsity ended up in a three way tie for the S.C.V.A.L. crown. In that playoff, the team was defeated by Gunn High who went on to take the C.C.S. title. F-574 Although most of the varsity is graduating this year, they are backed by a high-talented j.V. The number 'I doubles team of Yolanda Acosta and Kathy White, led the girls to the S.C.V.A.L. crown and they themselves won the number 1 l.V. doubles award as best team in the league. Next year should prove to be both exciting and successful. at Congratulations to all players.
