The various Spirit Groups did their usual superb job of boosting school spirit at games and rallies this year. Each group did their part to make 1978-79 a year to re- member. This year, the Drill Team, led by captain Beth McDonough and co-captain jackie Swift, attended summer camp, learning new routines and perfecting their perfect timing. The five Song Girls also attended camp, learning and creating new routines to liven things up. Letter Girl captain Teresa Loney and her seven companions also put in many hours of hard work this summer to get ready for the busy year ahead. All three groups attended all of the football games and most of the home basketball games. The various costumes, voted upon by the girls and approved by the captains and Mr. Urban, lit up the fields and courts, so that things never got dull. And if they did, the cheerleaders were right there, ready to wake us up and keep us on our toes, With new cheers and BIG mouths, they kept us alive when we were down and cheered us to even higher heights when we were ahead.
