'-s l f '- I F'- f 5' N 5 This is the last chance for us, the St. Francis Grad- uates'of 1951, to address ourselves toyou. Forthe time has come to depart from the beloved school which has had us in its care for four yearsg from the walls that have been sl- lent witnesses of aurhappy timesand our sad times, our mo- ments of glory and our periods of confusiong from the spots that saw usprepare our lessonsar play our games.Naturally, this parting isa sad one. But, while our hearts are heavy, our resolution of spirit points bravely to the fmture.'At St. Francis,we grew into young men. Nowwe are ready to ad- vance to the next level of preparation for life. We owe much to our Alla Mater. The subjects we learned, we could have learnedat any high school. But, here, we had as instructors men who dedicated their lives taGod and the service of youth. Thus, we know that their efforts for us have met with greater success and will bear more fruit be- cause oftheir selfless devotion. We shared their wisdom in the classroom. Their mature experience guided us tothe way to become Catholic men of morally sound character, good sports and happy comrades. For the priceless privelege of sharing in the wonder- ful traditions of S F H S and of adding our leaf to its book of imperishablc fame, we shall be ever grateful. We have striven, scholastically, tomaintain our school's rep- utation for educational success. In athletic competition we have held aloft the prideful banner, proclaiming that St. Francis men win like gentlemen and lose without ran- cour. We are happy to have helped in bringing the baseball co-championship to our school again this year. Dear Reader, proceed to the other pages of our boob and meet our comrades. See who our professors areg go on to view the places so dearly familiar to us. We know you will tarry long over tberecord of what happened at S F H S this year. And youwillnot by-pass the activities that oc- cupy our leisure time, nor the story, in pictures, of our athletic doings. Giveeye, too, toour patrons and advertis- ers whose friendship and support made this book possible. God's best to you, the blessing of St. Francis, and a regretful but necessary farewell from The Graduates of 1951 ,Z,. X-ri S-I fr. FUHEUJUHD ,,
