DEDICA TION In this Year of Our Lady, in filial love and devotion, and from hearts brimful of gratitude for an abundance of graces and Blessings, we lay at the feet of our Blessed Mother, Mary, this humble record of one year in our Franciscan lives. We make this offering in the knowledge that She is the Mediatrix of all graces, and in hope that She will make intercessions for us with Her Divine Son, unto the end that like Him we, too, may grow not only in age but also—and more so—in wisdom and in grace before Almighty God. To Mary, therefore, Mother of God and Mother of men; to Mary, Queen of Heaven and earth; and to Mary, Queen of the Franciscan Order, do we humbly proffer and prayerfully dedicate this nineteen fifty-four ALVERNIAN. 2
