Sixty Two The Green Wave Basketeers did not exact- ly set the world on fire this year but they were constantly in the thick of the battle. Through- out the season the Wave exhibited sportsman- ship and a great deal of basketball ability. The seasonis record of 12 victories and 11 de- feats does not tell the story of this teamis work. Under the capable tutelage of head coach Iames Brickels, the Green Waves finished the regular season with 10 on the right and 10 on the left to balance the ledger at 500 points. In the Class B District Tournament at Wes- terville our team defeated Hebron and a favored Mifflin team only to lose out to a strong XVorthington team in the quarter-finals. This team will be long remembered by its loyal fans for its ability to fight back in the face to defeat and to take a loss with determ- ination to win the next game.

Coach shows Elwell and Chiloni how it's doncl .E lim Giles-njabois faxjorite shot was the two-handed set shot from out front, pulling the defense out. Paul Petrcy-Pete was a cool playmaker who combined brawn and brains and walked away with the scholar-athlete award. Iolm Edly-uYontzf' the 6'2 whiz of the hard- wood, was voted the most outstanding play- er on the squad. Mike Grady-Mike is an uncanny artist who breaks up games with long shots from our front. Dick Kubik- Deac's', splendid scoring during the season earned him an award for out- standing achievement on the hardwood. Coach Brickels-Coach has ideals as well as ideas about playing the game. He made men out of his basketeers.
