Fllllll-'5llLlllll Leaving Port The plane now taxies o'er the field The Class of '30 is aboard, We feel the ground beneath us yield, Aloft, aloft, we-'ve quickly soared. And now we circle o'er the ground Where stand and gaze beloved friends: There teachers, juniors, move around. And fervent prayer for us aseends. Our parents lift a waving hand, And well we know that anxious hearts We 've left. on the receding land, As straight ahead our ship now darts. And whither shall our voyage tend? And shall we safely wing our way? And in what port shall each descend? And shall the skies be bright or gray? With firm grasp the stick we'll hold, VVith clear, unflinching eye we'll gaze Into the years, as they unfold, Nor fear the phantoms in their haze.
