Text from Pages 1 - 156 of the 1975 volume:

PRESIDENT Saint ?zaneia Calfege Biddelozd, main: 04005 May 13, 1975 To the Class of 1975 It is not particularly easy to write words of optimism to students who have suffered through one of the most agonizing periods in our history -- the era of the Vietnam war. The great American dream seems to have be- come a nightmare of pollution, scarcity and agonizing doubts. Our senses are constantly assaulted by words, pictures, smells and sounds of discord ond disharmony. The era of unlimited opportunities appears over and the era of learning to live with less is commencing. Thus, the traditional encouraging words to graduates about a world with open arms awaiting them seem most inappropriate. What does await each and every one of you, however, is a world that cries out for people of peace, of integrity and courage. As educated citizens, you have the opportunity to participate in the reordering of our priorities and in the reshaping of the life style of this nation. I hope that you seize the opportunities as they confront you and that you will commit yourselves to developing a humane, rational existence for us all. Wishing you all much future success, I am Sincerely yours, C;;;B?K 41.9 K A. A L Donald J. Moclntyre Acting President To the Saint Francis Community, The 1975 Motus Staff has decided on the theme every end is a new beginning . The reason being that gradu- ation is the end of college life but the beginning of the dream we had in college. Writing a letter for a yearbook is very much a tradition, but many traditions have been broken in this book. The Staff tried to show everyone in our College, but sometimes it proved impossible in a 140 page book. Also, this year saw more women on the yearbook staff-including the editor-than ever before. This also can be linked to our theme. The Motus Staff has worked very hard on this book, and we are proud of our work. We would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Jack Ketchum without whose help there would not have been a 1975 yearbook. As for myself, Saint Francis College was a very happy time in my life. The friends I have made I will never forget. I do not mourn the ending of these years but look forward to what college has prepared me. A new beginning. Marti Hess Dedication We, the Saint Francis Community, proudly dedicate this yearbook to Ben Fink who has always been there when the College needed him and has been ever willing to help in any facet he could. He is a true member of the Community. aux w-1 m mmmc- w: mam Mr. Jack Ketchum Dr. Donald Maclntyre Mrs. Gil Warner, Mr. Ben Chretien Mr. David DeTurk 8 ML Paul Star Mr. William Sutton Al Shinkel Kevin Coveney Mr, Bob Crony Mr. Arthur Gallant Dr. Norman Beaupre Fr.
