3 “And He — suddenly gleamed! My dazzled eyes Coming from outer sunshine to this green And secret gloaming, met without surprise The vision. Only after, when the sheen And Splendor of his going fled away, I knew amazement, wonder and despair, That he should come — and pass — and would not stay, The Silken — swift — the gloriously Fair! That he should come — and pass — and would not stay, So that, forever after, I must go, Take the long road that mounts against the day, Travelling in the hope that I shall know Again that lifted moment, high and sweet, Somewhere — on purple moor or windy hill — Remembering still his wild and delicate feet, The magic and the dream — remembering still!” Don't let dreams hinder you — Let yourself go to whatever life brings Believe in yourself And the rest will follow! Congratulations to the class of '85 Franciscan 1985 5 180 Remsen Street • Brooklyn Heights, New York 11201 • 718-522-2300 June 7, 1985 Dear Graduate: In the name of the Board of Trustees, Administration, Faculty and Staff, may I extend sincere and heartfelt congratulations to each of you on the occasion of your graduation. This does not only concern the students in relation to the college, but also their relation to the surrounding communities. One of the main purposes of the Student Government is to act as a sounding board for any desires and interests the students might express. Along with the responsibility of hearing the needs of the student body, the Student Government of St. Francis is trying to make a better St. Francis to all concerned. Their services are for the benefit of the students as individuals and as part of the college. The elections for Student Government positions occur every Spring semester of every academic year. These elections are very important because the people elected play a very important role at the college as student representatives. They are elected by a majority of the student body; and for that reason they are expected to act as the legitimate representatives of the student body and are to act in the best interests of the students. 98 ACCOUNTING SOCIETY President — Sally Signore Vice Pres. — Robert Mazzella Secretaries — Marilyn Duncan Matthew Signore Treasurer — Franklin Watson S.A.C.O.R. LORSTtIV TH0H4S STI'UIRS 182 FOREMOST SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPH MRS ! THL LAST It's finished! I never thought that I would ever come to the end of this book. It has been both an enriching and exhausting experience. It is now 2:00 a.m. and I felt that I should leave this letter for last in order to accurately express how I feel upon completion of this book. There were many times when I was frustrated; coming up against insurpassable problems. Sometimes they were ignored and other times solved. I hope that as you look through this book you will see the time and care that has been given. I also hope that you will be as proud as I am of what is represented in this book. In any goal we partake there will always be shortcomings, but I hope that you; as I have tried to do, will overcome these shortcomings and see the real essence of what this school is made of. To you the graduates, and the future graduates I wish much happiness and success. I must say that this book has not been a one-person accomplishment. To my staff: Bobbo, Vec., Jeanne G., Maria, AnnMarie, Marie, Lestine, Ralph, Georgia, and Curtis; many thanks. To Toni: For your non stop patience with me. To Jeanne M.: For all those short notice photo assignments. To Joanne: For all those times I left you alone in the office with a pile of work. To Charles Eames and Ann Amore: For all those times I came to your office and you gave me the support I needed to go on. Again, Thank You!! There are two people that I leave for last, without their help I do not know what I would have done. To Pauline: You are DEFinitely FANTABCJLOCJS! Remember the camera on Montague Street. To Laura: WHOOSH! Remember 11:00 p.m. in Room 105A and the all night work session — 6:30 a.m., pregnant mouse. Please not another grad, name on the list.
