The hard-work¬ ing team is led by Senior Captains, Rich McCabe and Tommy Shimshack, both seasoned veterans and dedicated leaders. Junior standout Tom Kelly who is one of the league’s top swimmer’s is a definite hope¬ ful for outstanding swimmer this season. A mountain is an admirable and beautiful creation which can be attacked by climbing or just admired passively by the eye. In a sense we ourselves have mountains within us. Each one of us has goals which most probably are different from the next person’s. But nonetheless, these goals are combined to form our own individual mountain which can be either visualized passively or can be attacked by chipping away at obstacles and reaching the peak at our own rate. While climbing our mountain we should try to attain and live by high standards of which we are proud. While we were in high school we lived life with a desire to be the best person we thought we could be. At the end of the four years we decided to continue the climb and so came here to St. Francis. Four years have gone by . . . faster than some of us would like and at the same time too slow for some. But nonetheless, the fact remains that our days at S.F.C. are at their end . . . Hopefully we have made the best of the time ... Some have made friendships that will last a lifetime ' : . . Others have cried throughout finals only to. come out laughing in the end . . . And still others have studied until all hours while some have not studied at all ... While at S.F.C. we have been able to form ourselves as members of a society and have striven to gain the knowledge needed to reach the top of the mountain. We are all individuals and have therefore reached different levels of success in our fields. The Driscolls saved the best til last! Mr. Mrs. Ed McLaughlin Dear Pup Thank you for everything. Through all the heartaches it was still worth it. -Miranda At this point you have complete your scan of the book. We have tried to present to you the events of the year to the best of our ability. Due to the limited amount of funds and time, we have had to take away some special effects. Nonetheless we feel that we have done our best within our means. One person cannot produce a yearbook. Therefore many thanks are extended to Ann Amore from the Alumni Office who assisted me in the early stages of the book. Marjoire Driscoll from the Counseling Cen¬ ter for giving us both her time and her typing ability. Mr. Charles Rossi from Lorstan’s Studios and to our publisher Andy Murro for without him we would not have had the patience to produce this book. Last, but not least, I would like to thank the few but very important and helpful people on the staff. To¬ gether we fought each other for the use of the better picture or idea but this friction helped rather than hindered our job. For years to come we will be able to look back on the happenings of the Franciscan ’80 office. All of us who played a part in the production were brought closer together and shared moments of laughter, tears and complete exhaustion and exhilera- tion at 7:59 PM. Together we learned what it means to co-operate and hold a position which others are de¬ pendent upon. Not one of us could have done it alone. Paul, who helped from the very beginning, especially with the fund raising. Thank you also for dragging Joey on the staff. But Joey, thank you for staying on and learning a little bit of everything. Maureen, for all your patience, time and devotion. Thank you also for following in Paul’s footsteps and hanging in there Chris, I appreciate yoUr helping in every way that you could. And Karen for all your help with the artwork. Thank you all again very much. Editor and Staff of Franciscan 1980
