ig -'f515fDI'Q X Way back 1n the memorable year of 1955, forty three eager green freshmen began thexr hlgh school days at St Francxs Academy Under the gu1dance of S1ster Raphael we elected R1ta Clarey, Carol Ohver, and Paul Kmn as our class offlcers Anx1ous to Jom 1n the swmg of act1v 1t1es, four boys qua11f1ed for basketball Carol E , R1ta, and Carol O s cheermg F1ght team F1ght urged them on to v1ctory Carn1val t1me entxced us all to secure the crown for Carol Eckholt but agamst stronger forces we talhed up for only thrrd place Shortly before Thanks g1v1ng, we made our f1rst retreat Father LeMay s 1nsp1r1ng conferences touched us deeply Reduced 1n number our sophomore class counted th1rty four members, w1th Kathy Skroch as newcomer Our femmlne staff, 1nclud.1ng the two Carols, Margxe, and Jan1ce, was a1ded by Mr Scheller, our class advxsor Thoughx we whole heartedly entered the Carn1val Queen Con test, we were agaxn held down to a cool 'th1rd w1th Carol O as our Carn1val Queen Candldate After the f1rst semester, we enjoyed our second h1gh school retreat conducted by Father Wye Our Junlor class roll remamed at th1rty four Tom Braun, Pat Thomson, and R1ta GIS1 fllled the vacant seats left by Margle Pehl Carol Eckholt, and D1ane Leske We entrusted our busmess to Jamce Krause, Bob Lmgen, Tom Braun, and Paul Kum, w1th S1ster Veron1ca as our class advxsor 1957 was a banner year 1n sports The basketball team under the able d1rect1on of Coach Lxpp chalked up a 15 1 v1ctor1ous record and gamed the much coveted D1str1ct Champ the cheermg squad Mary Cox was our carrnval queen camdate for the contest 1n wh1ch we came 1n second Changmg the trad.1t1on of the awa1ted Prom, we took a class tr1p to St John s Un1vers1ty, Collegevalle, where we engoyed the Operetta, The Mag1c Flute Jumors and sen1ors combmed then' dramatxc talent 1n presentmg the three act play Love IS Eternal Charles, Jan1ce, LaVonne, Tom, Pat, and Joretta were members of the cast Father Scheller of Grand. Forks was retreat master durmg our Jumor year The f1nal year of our h1gh school l1fe opened w1th th1rty members 1n the semor class Loulse Schroedl 15 the newcomer th1s year, wh1le Rlta G1s1 and Albert Poss dropped out All the members of last year s executwe department were re elected, and are gu1ded by S1ster Francls For the flrst t1me, we succeeded 1n w1nn1ng the Carn1val Queen Crown w1th 'Queen Pat re1gnmg over the 1958 Carn1val events Paul was promoted to the A team Carol and Jamce were chosen as cheerleaders A retreat g1ven by Father Sauter was a f1tt1ng open1ng to the last semester of our h1gh school years At th1s t1me, four semors, Jean Welder, Kathy Skroch, Leonette W1snewsk1, and Pat Thomson Jo1ned the postulancy at St F'ranc1s Convent Our last project 15 the publ1cat1on of Memorles wh1ch, we hope, wrll go over auth a bang The greatest thmg rs yet to come Graduatxon We w1sh to thank our parents and teachers who have made 1tposs1ble for us to arrlve at the cross road of our preparatxon for l1fe The conf1dence 1n our Blessed Mother gxves us courage to face the future 4t 0 ! 2 ri, ,gf u Q - . .
