The gaduation of the 1955 class at St. Florian High School coincides with the cen- tenary celebration of the founding of the Community of the Felician Sisters. There is E a connection between these two events. The Centenary has to do with the members of a religious community, which from the very inception of Saint Florian School have been teaching our children and since 1940 the students of Saint Florian High School. The p 1955 class happens to be the twelfth gaduating group of Saint Florian's, this, as all 2 4 . gs 1 former classes, under the direction of the Felician Sisters, were well prepared for Cath- olic life, equipped with human knowledge for the purpose of preserving the inestimable gift of faith and the sublime treasure of Catholic morality. Our sincere gatitude and . congratulations go out to the Felician Sisters. Y . ' Q This, my dear students, is the bond between yourselves and the Community of the t Felician Sisters. You have lived with the good Sisters, who taught you each day in the classrooms. Nay more, you have lived with the Divine Master, present in the Sacra- ment of the Altar, and with Him, under the direction of the Sisters, you have carried l . on the work of your spiritual and mental foundation. Through their sacrifices you have Q acquired knowledge and virtue, you have learned that only with God in the mind and in 5 1, - the heart, can human life be rightly orientated, well ordered and tranquil. This you not j gr I only know, but have very zealously put into practice. Your desire to live with God, was 2 shown when so very often you received Om' Lord in Holy Communion. Your love for our is Blessed Mother has been accentuated d1.u'i.ng the past Marian Year. Q Sports played a very important part in your school lives, where you displayed your 5 f strength as good Catholics, when executing yotu' sportsmanship in every game on the gt if gridiron, court or baseball field. 2 5 In my closing address, may I direct to you the words of the Holy Scriptures: You pp y , know that I have taught you statutes and justices, as the Lord, my God had commanded 3 , f us, so shall you do them in the land which you shall possess, and observe, and fulfill Q them in practice. For this is your wisdom and understanding in the sight of people, that sp hearing all of these precepts, they may say, Behold a wise and understanding people, a , great nation. f as r May your Graduation Day often remind you of an obligation you have towards the p -, Sisters, in your prayers, at least, petition Our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Mother 5: 3 for blessings on the FELICIAN SISTERS. 2, if . 2 'Ei ' Yours in the Hem of Mary, Wi!
