Father Zielinski's spirit was our greatest asset in all the merits achieved this year. Love of the game b two of his most admirable char- and willingness to help, proved to e acterisitics. The feeling of a winning spirit was incessantly upon the athletes whenever Father's presence was noted. The sting of defeat, which is hard to bear, lost much of its bitterness when just a few words were heard from Father. Our wins were due partly to the inspirational effect communicated by his unending desira- bility for victory. ' . Oft he told the Win or lose, sportsmanship was placed above all en 'th a high degree of sportsmanship and teams that losing a game wx respect for the opponent was more beneficial and satisfying than a victory by underhanded methods. We, the Seniors of '53, shall always save a place in our hearts for this Man of God, who within the span of a single school year, endowed ms with material needs as well as the spiritual motives of good ur teams had such an ardent booste the tea sportsmanship.
