Wasielewski, Athletic Director. It happens every spring to St. Florian as it does throughout this great land. With the coming of balmy breezes and the warm sun, the young men's fancies turn again to baseball and thoughts of the diamond. Art Macioszczyk, who is also head grid and hoop mentor, will coach the Lancer nine . With most positions on the team open, a lively battle for the individual posts should develop. Success of the St. Florian baseball team will depend in a large measure on how well the first-year men of last year have learned their job. Since the team is composed of almost all lower classmen, Lancer fans will see emphasis placed on speed and hustle rather than on grace. This season St. Florian hopes to obtain its share of vic- tories by again utilizing teamwork and spirit. If the latter part of last season was an indication, 1952 Lancer fans are in store for an aggressive and improving team. By utilizing their own talents and following the sound advice of Coach Macioszczyk the baseball team will continue to roll. After expending much time and energy to the rookies last season, Art is hoping the results will be in evidence this year. How- ever, even with the handicap of inexperience, St. Florian will continue to carry out the fine tradition of Lancer baseball teams of the past.
