10 Renewal Movement Demands More Involvement, Concern Christianity in renewal is the topic of the day. In an all out effort for more communication, renewal groups have been organized outside school for both young and old. Yet the renewal influence bears directly upon the method and material in classroom religion study. In reality seniors take a marriage course which gradually broadens in- to a sociology class while underclassmen study various aspects of the Bi- ble. But because the modern Christian must be aware and involved in the world around him, it is not unusual to hear religion discussions cen- tered on civil rights, politics, open housing, Vietnam ... Learning To Know The idea of what is true merit should al- so be often presented to youth, explained and impressed on their minds, as consisting in an inclination joined with an ability to serve mankind, one’s country, friends and family; which ability is (with the blessing of God) to be acquired or greatly increased by true learning, and should indeed be the great aim and end of all learning.
