6.S.M.6. The Catholic Students' Mission Crusade has many goals. The students must be Crusaders for Christ. As students in a Catholic high school we should have not only team spirit; but like Christ, we must be alive to the needs of others and of the world. Pope Pius XII tells us that to be mission - minded is a serious obligation of every Christian. We must think big! How can I make sure that I think and act like Christ? How can I help spread the gospel of Christ all over the globe? The C.S. M. C. helps us to be conscious of our responsibility to be missionaries through class projects, assemblies, sacrifices and prayers for the Kingdon of Christ. We will join with Christ, saying with Isaiah the Prophet, Lord, send me the strength to use my time and talents for Your cause. Father Schroering, M. M., a native of Jasper, Indiana, related his experiences of missionary work in Japan, School officers of the Mission Crusade -are Ernest Brames, President; Terry Olinger, Vice-President; Eugene Verkamp, Secretary; Susan Steltenpohl, Treasurer; and Father Hubert, Moderator. The Catholic Students' Mission Crusade, in its first year at St. Ferdinand High School, proved to be very successful with 100% enrollment in the Senior class, 93% in the Junior class, 70% of the Sophomores, and 46% of the Freshmen. Edwin Schilling points out to James Peters, Susanne Knust, and Caroline Toby what the mission-minded students have contributed to the Bishops' Relief Fund.
