DAVID GREENWELL Although David just moved to Ferdinand this year from Chrisney, he is one of the most popular members of the class, especially among the girls. One of Mr. Steiner’s prize agriculture and shop students, David plans to go into farming after graduation. BONNIE FISCHER SENIORS Five foot two, eyes of blue is not entirely correct in Bonnie’s case for she is a mere five foot one. Though she finds herself to be the shortest member of the class, she manages to sur- pass her classmates in other respects. She is a “mirror of courtesy,” a lover of music and seems to have every popular song at her fingertips. KENNETH FISCHER Kenny is the boy who always has an answer to any question or statement not pertaining to school work. He was only a half- day student during his Senior year while spending the rest of the day working at home. Most probably the Army will claim him soon after graduation, or perhaps it would be better to say that he will claim the Army. Patty was elected Christmas Queen. This and her ready smile explain her popularity. She is a trombone player and a valuable band member. By entering nurse’s training, she intends to dedicate herself to the service of others. His favorite classes are Shop and Agri- culture. Wilfred plans to leave for the army soon after graduation. ALBERT DILGER Small but mighty describes Albert to a “T.” He has always been known for his fun-loving nature and his class spirit. It looks as though he too will go into farming as he likes anything that involves agriculture. REBECCA DOUGLAS Becky has always been an outstanding student. As a Junior she won the 44Our American Heritage essay contest sponsored by the American Legion. Top honors were hers again in her Senior year when she was awarded the Betty Crocker Home- maker Pin. She daily greeted the students this past year in her role as cafeteria cashier. DENNIS DURCHOLZ Dennis, an all-around sportsman, will go down as one of Ferdinand’s Basketball Greats, as he broke three and set three individual scoring records this season. Known as “Turkey, he is a quiet, pleasant fellow who seems to enjoy farming as much as any sport.

SENIORS DAN HAUSER The tallest boy in school with probably the broadest grin is “Big Dan. He is one of the “biggest reasons for our basket- ball team’s great success. His basketball-playing ability has excited the interest of several colleges, which, in turn, have offered him scholarships. Dan, however, is still undecided as to his plans for the coming year. IMELDA HEDINGER Imelda is the girl who loves a friendly argument but, never- theless, has an art for getting along with others. She has already taken the examination for entering nurses training at St. Mary’s Hospital, Evansville; hence, there is no question as to her future plans. Her personality is such that she is well qualified for this calling BARBARA HELMING Barbara is the capable, ever-ready editor of the 57 Crusader. In the commercial field she has attained certificates of highest merit in typing and has also kept an excellent record in her bookkeeping class. There is no doubt as to her success for she is determined and full of zeal. LEE ROY HOFFMAN Lee Roy is an excellent Math student, having been the only one of the class who took solid Geometry. A friend of every- one, he is quite witty and has a grand sense of humor. At times he is a bit mischievous, but having good clean fun is his favorite pastime.
