SENIORS WILFRED BRINKMAN Wilfred was a star player on the4 4Soup Bowl League” Champion team. Basketball seems to be his favorite pastime because he’s always playing it. His favorite classes are Shop and Agri- culture. Wilfred plans to leave for the army soon after graduation. ALBERT DILGER Small but mighty describes Albert to a “T.” He has always been known for his fun-loving nature and his class spirit. It looks as though he too will go into farming as he likes anything that involves agriculture. REBECCA DOUGLAS Becky has always been an outstanding student. As a Junior she won the 44Our American Heritage essay contest sponsored by the American Legion. Top honors were hers again in her Senior year when she was awarded the Betty Crocker Home- maker Pin. She daily greeted the students this past year in her role as cafeteria cashier. DENNIS DURCHOLZ Dennis, an all-around sportsman, will go down as one of Ferdinand’s Basketball Greats, as he broke three and set three individual scoring records this season. Known as “Turkey, he is a quiet, pleasant fellow who seems to enjoy farming as much as any sport.

SENIORS JOE BOEGLIN Who is this? Why, it’s Joe Boeglin, one of the friendliest boys in school. Since he spends most of his time at a typewriter or at a bookkeeping project, it seems that he is destined for the business world. He intends to enter Indiana University next fall. VIRLEE BEGLE Virlee attracts the attention of all by her smiling dimples. Popularity seems to be her outstanding achievement. She was chosen as an attendant to the basketball queen and as Ferdinand High’s nominee for the queenship at the Home Show held at Jasper. She is undecided as to her future. JAMES BOLTE Give Jim a cornet and he’s gone. The rigid check he keeps on himself will help in later life. Garage work has been a valuable source of experience and income for him. Jim has his own orchestra and is, it seems, already on the road to success. PEGGY BETTAG Peggy is one of our “onlies” from Mariah Hill, as she and the Wirthwein twins are the first girl graduates from Mary, Help of Christians Parish. Her jolly and congenial disposition has made her well liked by the students. According to her present plans, she will enter business college next year.

DAVID GREENWELL Although David just moved to Ferdinand this year from Chrisney, he is one of the most popular members of the class, especially among the girls. One of Mr. Steiner’s prize agriculture and shop students, David plans to go into farming after graduation. BONNIE FISCHER SENIORS Five foot two, eyes of blue is not entirely correct in Bonnie’s case for she is a mere five foot one. Though she finds herself to be the shortest member of the class, she manages to sur- pass her classmates in other respects. She is a “mirror of courtesy,” a lover of music and seems to have every popular song at her fingertips. KENNETH FISCHER Kenny is the boy who always has an answer to any question or statement not pertaining to school work. He was only a half- day student during his Senior year while spending the rest of the day working at home. Most probably the Army will claim him soon after graduation, or perhaps it would be better to say that he will claim the Army. Patty was elected Christmas Queen. This and her ready smile explain her popularity. She is a trombone player and a valuable band member. By entering nurse’s training, she intends to dedicate herself to the service of others. PATTY HAGEDORN
