Model of proposed grade school building for Loudon and NVheatland. Plans for proposed addition to St. Elmo High School. Plans for the proposed grade school building pictured above. One of life's great purposes is that of making the future better than was the past. The Board of Education has addressed itself to that high purpose and has presented a plan diagrammatically shown on this page. It envisions the best available in modern architecture and design. All this is directed to the end that the youth of St. Elmo Unit will have a better chance to develop their greatest possibilities. In prospect are three new buildings, Loudon and Wheatland each for the first six grades and an addition to high school to accommodate a junior-senior high school. These are the schools reorganized to give greater opportunity for all grades. Elementary grades will be concentrated with one or two to a room, upper grades will have the benefits of departmental organizations and present high school students will have enlarged opportunities due to improved facilities. As these visions become reality the Board will have modernized the schools in keeping with other facets of everyday living. Look to the future with the Board and see schools in harmony with the myriad of new devices that grace homes and highways. Hard work and devotion to duty unfold things to come. haw-vu -.
