It is one of the largest organizations in the school. This year 1967-1968 was a busy one for the members of the G. A.A. The annual Sadie Hawkins dance and the Sweetheart's Ball, a variety of fund rais- ing activities, various service projects, cake sales, a spaghetti feed, and an outstanding sports clinic for members of the Girls Athletic League kept the girls busy throughout the year. ii? .,, , 1.T.,...f-....., . . Students come dressed in the grubbiest clothes they own and sometimes it seems amazing that even their parents could recognize them. This year, Grub Day was highlighted with an assembly featuring the Grub Day Parade, a pie eating contest, a relay race, an egg throwing contest, and the Grub- biest Grubs contest. 4...-Q CLASS COLORS DAY New and different color combin- ations are seen each year as Spirit Week features Class Colors Day. Each class chooses its own colors which are brightly displayed in free dress. The day was climaxed with an assembly featuring cheers and skits from each class. Dennis Butler was the Master of Ceremon- ies and Father Everett announced the winners. - RULES ST IZABETH SEI-I strikes again as the mighty Mustangetres crush the defanged Dragonettes 18 - O. A Enix it In his first year of teaching at St. Elizabeth's, Mr. Rowe has coached the varsity football and track team, and has accepted the position of Athletic Director. It is not often that a school is lucky enough to have a man that handles so many things so well. Mr. Rowe's name has become synonymous with getting things done. In his role as football and track coach, he truly strives for excellence, but more important, he real- izes the effects sports participation can have on high school boys, and does his best to direct them to be winners both in sports and in life. His ability to lead athletes in a disciplined manner and still re- tain their respect is one of the many outstanding characteristics of this fine man. The many odd jobs that inevitably have to be done, usually fall into the hands of Coach Rowe. He handles all of them with skill and determination, and sacrifices many hours in organization of extra- curricular activity. Coach Rowe, we thank you. 7 I ... GIRLS SPORTS ff, V -- q 5 'w Outstanding coaching of the G,A,A, Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball teams was shown this year by Miss Pat Coyne.
