Accompanied by Sisters Mary Patrice and Mary Salome, C.PP.S., they turned the tide of a tedious ride with songs and the recitation of the rosary. Upon their arrival, the seniors ate a delicious luncheon at Helias High School. After a short tour of LaSalette Seminary they rode down the avenues until they came to the impressive Capitol building. Returning tram their tour of Missouri's house of law, they visited the Governor's Mansion and the famed Cole County Historical Society Museum. At 4:00, seventy-one delighted seniors again boarded the buses-this time bound for school and home. The worries and troubles of school were forgotten as strikes, spares, and an occasional gutterballwere recorded. A High Mass in honor of St. Titus began the three days of prayer for the students. Seniors and iuniors attended conferences in the chapel given by Father Richard Kaiser, pastor at Vandalia. Father Richard Gallagher, assistant pastor at St. Peter's Church in Kirkwood, spoke to the sophomores and freshmen in the gymnasium. Make your life a beautiful painting of many virtues to offer to God as your masterpiece of love. This was the essence of the entire series of conferences. Each was linked to the previous one to give students a firm foundation on which to build their future. The three days of silence and meditation were brought to a close with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and the bestowal of the Papal Blessing. 46 Kiki.
