Page Three Page Four mf Lady of ,Quito THE ECHO OF OUR FAVORITE PRAYER wends its way to your heavenly throne, dear Lady of Quito, as we once more lovingly salute you as Our Sorrowful and Immac- ulate Motherf, In memory of the happy occasions when we conducted others on a spiritual pilgrimage to your Shrine at Quito, and with humble gratitude for your maternal guidance through our school days at S. E. A., we dedicate the pages of this year book to you. Even as we honor your -sorrows endured for us, we are mindful of the long journey we must yet undertake. We too will encounter hardships, and the burden of our cross will impede our footsteps. Nevertheless, O loving Patroness, we place ourselves under the mantle of your protection, confident that you will help us bear each cross, that you will make it sweeter ..... lighter ..... yours. Please never forsake your children until one day our pilgrimage ends, as yours did, in everlasting happiness in heaven. Amen. Homework and class schedules were forgotten for a while, and tired minds were refreshed by the friendly competition that took place. An occasional gutter ball was overlooked as a spare or strike followed in its path and scores mounted steadily higher. With a word of encouragement from the captains: Barbara Ruck, Eileen Wilms, Pat Klein, Mar- gie Thorpe, Kathy Kell, Mari- anne Gildehaus, Sandy Tips- ord, Antoinette Bellistri, Rose- mary Dunn, Margie Nicholson and Anna Mae Provaznik, the respective teams vied for high scores and First place in the league. All arrangements with the bowling alley were effi- ciently cared for by Pat Klein, while hcr co-secretary, Eileen Wilms, kept the official scores for the League. The members of the Aquinian Speech Association receive excellent direction in this art from Sister M. Ignatia, C. PP. S. Competing with eighteen high schools in the St. Louis area, St. Elizabeth Academy received two trophies this season, second place in dramatization and second place in radio-extemporaneous.
