So off to CoWie's Chop Housen operated by none other than PAT COWIE. A very efficient hostess, BARBARA MANSFIELD, leads US f0 the bC5f Sf001 in the house. Our order is taken by LAVERNE MATEKER and'after a short wait our meal is put before us in grand fashion by RUTHIE JOHMANN. After we had finished our chops, We Went to our hotel, via NORDMANN Public Service Company. Arriving at MATHEWS-MCCONVILLE Arms, We gave our bags to ANNE MARIE FREE, a Mars Hop. Under the watchful eye of the assistant manager, PAT O'KEEFE, we signed the register. We took the zoomavater, operated by ZOOMER ZELLER, to our rooms. We rested for a short time and then decided to go to the theater. We called the box office of the Triple S. Theater, owned jointly by MARY SELIGA, JEAN SCHMITT, and JOAN SCHILLING, to ascertain the attractions. NANCY NAERT, the box-office girl, informed us that the Mars Follies .of 1965, produced by MARIA PELICAN and directed by BARBARA WEISMANTEL, was currently playing. We called a space cab, JO ANN MURPHY'S, and Went to the theater. After purchasing our tickets from MARLENE RHOMBERG, We were shown to our seats by PHYLLIS FONTAINE, the usherette. Sharing our box with us were ELIZABETH SCHUBERT and JANET BLOEMKER, space detectives. The curtain rose, the lights flickered, and the follies were in progress. The Singing Ten, ADRIENNE BOUCHAERT, LA VERNE EMERY, ROSEMARIE BOZDECK, KATHLEEN O'REILLY, JANE SCHAEG, ARLINE TAMM, ELEANOR SOHNLE, MARY BULLMAN, and HEL RAINE HEDTKAMP sings a popular solo, A Slow R PAT BEETZ'S accordion band.. She also informed us that MARY LOU HORN JO GIANINO nd EANNE s . ' 'A 3 J ' u ULLIVAN had taken an adventure trip to Neptune and were now trying t0 colonize it. A Page Twenty-Eight Returning to our box, we watched the second act. In it JOAN DOWLING and RUTH DETERS supported DOROTHY KEUTZER, the star. JEAN HOLTZMANN, JOAN STAUDER, MARILYN MARSH, and DOLLY ROONEY closed the act with the current song, You Have to Be a Star to Live on Mars. I We spotted ANN MANTIA, NINA BARTSCH and ELEANORE HAJEK taking pictures for the Marr Nightly Moon, the only newspaper of its kinds, owned by BONNIE BREDEMANN, THERESA BRAMBILLA, and MARY ANN HERZWURM. JOAN EPPY and ROSEMARY KRUPP followed the photographers for interviews. JOAN is talking to DELORES WEGMAN, a famous novel critic. ROSEMARY is interviewing BETTY ANN GANSS and MARY ANN BRAMBILLA, stars in the recent hit produc- tion, A Backward Glance. MARY PARRINO, aivisitor from Venus, is asking the advice of GERRY PEIL, the physical education expert on Mars. The people on Venus seem to be suffering from an ailment due to planetary exposure. I The orchestra summoned us to the third act. It featured an unusual skit, the players were FRANCES BECKER, VALERIA EVERING, and DOLORES KAMP- MANN. The narrator was JOAN KOENIG. After the last act, RITA UNGER appealed to the audience for funds for the advancement of radar controlled space ships. We left the theater and went to our hotel. After a great nightis sleep, we rose early to return to earth. When we arrived home, we were met by MARIE SCHELLER and HELEN SCHREINER, the two who establish and maintain friendly relations between the earth and Mars. All the energy of Catholic life is focused on this luminous body to which all Christian activities gravitate. Catholics perceive that the Divine Presence in the Blessed Eucharist is their chief source of spiritual life, their inspiration in trials, their consolation in' sorrow, and their strength in difficulties as well as in temptations. Elizabethans realize that in the harvest of the Mass are gathered the richest sheaves and fairest flowers in the soil of the Church. Assembled around the Altar of Sacrifice, the source of all Catholic energy, the students offer themselves each day to God through Christ and thus gradually attain to spiritual maturity. Only through the grace of God Will they put on the image of Christ, so that through Him, and with Him, and in Him, they shall advance the Peace of Christ, and be eternal Bearers of Him to Men. Scintillating wit, sparkling humor, spontaneous gayety, tense emotion, and clever impersonations spelled delightful, interested, and interesting entertainment. The experiences of Cornelia and Emily on their ocean voyage and in France, verily made the audience feel that their hearts too, were young and gay.
