Class Prophecy ..ql1r1w-u- mga.. O YOU EVER dream? I seldom do, but last night I had a magnificent dream. Brick Bradford took me into his Time Top and sent me ten years ahead of the rest of the world. When I arrived in New York, I noticed that the world hadn't changed much, except for taller buildings. Believing that this would be the quickest way to learn about America-1954, I bought the most popular Woman's Magazine and soon became engrossed in its contents. I was greeted on the cover by the familiar face of Jean Westhus, sketched in 'a pretty red hat by the famous artist, Mary Jean Davison. I soon discovered that this excellent publication is ably edited by Mary Ann I.aBarge, the envy of all women journalists. Some interesting news, compiled by the Society Editor, Pat Webb, awaited my eye as I turned the pages. Luella Forrest entertained last week-end with another of her famous house parties. Among her guests was the brilliant novelist, Pat Thomas, author of Three Little Smear. This recent publication received orchids from the distinguished literary critic, Ruth Melville. Miss Thomas revealed that when the book is filmed, the leading characters will be portrayed by Adele Heun, Marian Maloney, and the winner of last yeat's Academy Award, jane Boland. The party was also attended by Ioan Gardner, the eminent philanthropist, who earned her millions by the discovery of the ninety-eighth element. Miss Gardner has just founded a new all-charity hospital which was designed by the famous architectural trio: Krawinkel, Kremer and Kunz. Incidentally, the chief-of-staff of the new hospital is the nationally known Finces Lambert, M.D. The head nurse is Josephine Ba- - ix - ralle, and the dietetics department is under the supervision I' I ,l X of Marcella Falvey. Miss Virginia Bogy made her first Z-N GQUUA ,X public appearance, at the party, since her return from ' 1 A ' Z, Hollywood with her entire ballet company where she has X just completed the technicolor musical The Stars Ap- X plaudf' Among other guests were Vourdonna Fricke, A Xfe,-.Q Shirley Spaeth, Loretto Debrecht and Jeanne Neudeck, the '14 famous Four Queens of Bridge, closely rivalling the Four Aces. Audrey Thaman, recently elected Woman of the Year by all the leading magazines and newspapers of the nation, dropped in for a few moments. Mary jane Burrafato and Gloria Leggio, co-owners of the Ideal Show Company, attended with their chief designer, La Verne Dill. Elaine Fitzgerald and June Gregory, heads of the most exclusive dramatics school in New York, were also among the guests. I eagerly turned the page looking for more such news, but alas! instead of society news, I found gossip. The Goffip or Who? Doing What Where column is edited by Bette Ann Phelan. and Phylis Sherer. Their motto is: If you want to get all the news you can, just snoop with Puddy and Bette Ann. Accordingly, I snooped, and was glad I did, for many surprising facts were black on white before me.
