Sprunlc ' gave a demonstration lecture on the afternoon of October I3 in the Academy Gymnasium for the purpose of organizing a drum and bugle corps. He pointed out the advantages of such a project and so contagious was his enthusiasm that many students expressed the wish to join. On October 20, Mr. Sprunk paid another visit to organize the work. For a time rather strange and weird sounds came through the windows: soon a melody could be distinguished and the effect upon the listeners was both electrifying and gratifying. All were ready to march and f yes - they knew that now they could keep in step. The girls made their first public appearance at the Christmas Party. December Zl. Donned in their school uniforms with white capes thrown over their shoulders, they marched proudly into the hall led by their able drum-major, Dorothy Castello. The applause for their rendition was both long, and hearty. At the Fashion Show on the afternoon and evening of February 20 they again played very effectively The grand finale of the historical pageant Beacon Moments was rendered both beautiful and impressive by the appearance and selections of the Drum and Bugle Corps The members of the corps have developed a keen sense of rhythm they have further learned the beauty of co operation working and playing with many Their fellow students and friends wish them continued success and eagerly await their every contribution to St Elizabeth programs fLeft to Rlghtl FIFTH Row A Schuma M M Adkins I Kerslmg D Mzschel 'W Kenna M V Schrage R Perry D E Degrendle D Kmllcl M Krauzn el C Wood A Nzcholas For RTH Rox: L Bernhard E Pro es K A Cordeal L Schreiber M C-'re en amp M F Doherly R Ollens L Winkler M Maleclelk V Spec ar!
