Spanish Club The Spanish Club organized in 1928 was originally an organization composed of members of Spanish descent. This year in order to broaden their activities they decided to invite as members any student who had a conversational knowl- edge of Spanish. This step brought in several members who could not otherwise have joined. The purpose of the club is to enable its members to acquire a facility in the use of Spanish, and to bring into close connection the Spanish speaking students of the school. Although they have not been as active this year in the line of dramatics as they have formerly been they have taken a big part in the other campus activities. l Under the guidance of Fr. O'Don- nell who has served as faculty advisor the club has sustained a very co- operative spirit. Manuel Ochoa, the president of the club, is responsible for the interesting and entertaining meetings that have been character- istic of the club this year. Regular meetings were held each month for the benefit of the members. Outer row: OCHOA, E. VILLARREAL, C. BENA- l vines, R. DEHARO, DUQUE. Q Inner row: I-IOLGUIN, A. BENAVIDES, A. The 31930 Tower VVith the ambition to maintain or surpass the standard set by the previous annuals at St. Edward's the 1930 Tower staff began at the first of this school year to build a book which would achieve this goal. We have used as a theme one which at the present day is most prominent in the World of progress. We have portrayed five famous fllights as representative of the advancement that aviation has made since its Hrst crude beginning. The art on the Division pages were taken from drawings by Frank Lemon for the Wright Aeronautical Corp., whose permission we secured before using them. Every effort has been made to produce a book which is truly representative of life at St. Edward's. ,- ,.-.?.... . - ,- . - A , IRWIN J. FANETTE Edit07'-i1'L- Chief A it RALPH J.
