North Texas Club CCONCLUDEDJ Tue premier social event of the year for the club was the dance given by them at the Driskill Hotel Ball Noom. This was one of the two dances given by campus organizations during the year, and was also one of the best dances of the season. The dance committee composed of Marvin Farr, Joe Dorsey, Claude Martin, Chas. Dorsey, and John Mclaemore spared no trouble to make the dance a success. The dance was broadcast from the hotel over KUT, Austin's radio station. The club received much praise for their dance, and have set a precedent for other clubs to shoot at. The financial condition in which the club is kept is a feature of its organization. Though only small fees are charged by the members for initiation and regular dues the club has always been in a paying position as is evidenced by their many activi- ties. North Texas Cllulb CCONTINUEDD With the inauguration of the Intra-Mural leagues on the campus the North Texas Club was the first to enter. They have entered teams in each of the basketball and baseball tournaments. Their basketball team was among the best and they were a threat for the championship to their last game. In the Indoor Baseball league the club finished a close third. In the regular baseball league Captain Busby has led his men into a tie for first place. At present the team has several more games to play, and though they are not the favorites to win the league they intend being serious threats until the iinal gong. In the Intra-mural track and field meet to be held later in the year the club in- tends to present another strong team. Though this is the first year of Intra- mural competition among the clubs, this club like the other Texas clubs is doing its best to perpetuate the leagues. Regular club meetings are held twice a month and are always well attended. Here the regular business is discussed and plans laid for their own advancement. Each meeting is usually followed by some kind of entertainment for the benefit of the members. Regular dues besides the initiation fee are charged in order to help carry on the business of the club. Knights of Columbus Council 2.559 The St. Edward's Knights of Columbus Council 2559 is one of the few student councils in the world. This council was granted its charter on December 14, 1924 and since that time it has been one of the most active councils in the state. In student activities it is also one of the liveliest organizations on the campus. The council meets twice monthly at which time the business of the council is discussed and after which instructive and entertaining programs are held. This organization is known on the campus for the entertainment it offers its members at the meetings as well as the educational benefits received from it. The lirst initiation was held in Austin, December 15, and the second in San Antonio on April 27. In both cases the first and second de- grees of the order were bestowed by the St. Edward's Degree Team. On May 2, the council gave a dance honoring the newly initiated mem- bers.
