Senior Class History To each member of the graduating class, the reception of his diploma will mean a different thing. They are all leaving St. Edward's Prep School, some will enter higher institutions of learning while others will begin immediately to make their own way through life. Mingled with the happy thoughts of leaving high school are bits of regret. The class will be broken up and all will be separated, each one will carry with him memories of the happy days spent in study and in play. Fond memories will be cherished of the friendships of classmates. Activities among the members of the senior class on the campus this year have been more outstanding than ever before. Their eHorts have not been confined to any one nature, but have touched on every phase of school life. In athletics Bradford and Foley have both shown much ability. Besides both having lettered in football for three years, Foley has lettered two years in basketball, Bradford two years in baseball. Although these two have been the best all-rounders, there is also Fanett, Fette, and Sweeney who have seen much service and each lettered a single year in football. Klein coming into the class only in September has shown much promise on the diamond and on the basketball court. The steady progress in the physical field has in no way hindered the scholastic functioning of the class of '30, They have reached the highest peaks in edu- cational and social aspects. John McLemore has attained much prominence about the campus, he was President of the Senior Class and Vice-President of the North Texas Club. McLemore hasialso been very valuable in intramural sports and oratorical contests. Fette and Bradford have also been prominent in class work, being Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer of their class re- spectively. The seniors have all entered some kind of social, scholastic, or athletic activity. Benevides, Dow, and Longoria all belong to the Spanish Club. The Saint John Berchman Society boasts of the membership of Foley, McLemore, Sweeney, Davison, Foster, and Klein. Macatee, Caplis, Manning, and Mistrot have gained much popularity around the campus and Macatee is a member of the East Texas Club. Now that the class has gone through a very progressive and successful year the seniors of '30 are ready to face the future with a broader View of life with its peculiarities. They will wander far and wide, some of them may never see each other again, but there will always be somewhere in their thoughts, memories of the friendships of their fellow students who were always willing to lend a helping hand and see them through their troubles and difficulties which were witnessed at their dear alma mater.
