V ANCE Voor Emi End Cheered on by the largest football crowd ever assembled in El Paso the Texas School of Mines eleven made sensational football history by holding Saraf1ny's Fighting Saints to a scoreless draw. The game turned out to be a see-saw affair throughout with neither team being able to break the deadlock. The fact that scores do not indicate the superiority of a team was well demon- strated when the St. Ed's Saints downed Austin College by only a 6 to 0 count. Playing their last game of college football Saint grid performers, jansing, Herten- berger, Vogt, and Fanette, played in a positively brilliant fashion. These luminaries, closely followed by their teammates, gained more than 300 yards from scrimmage as compared to 44 yards by the Kangaroos and made twenty first downs to three for the Sherman team. Sarafiny's savage foward wall easily held the Kangaroo aggregation under control through the entire tilt and never once let them threaten the Saint goal. ELEC r PARMA RANSOM ROUGEAUX Halfback Halfback Guard In a game marred by frequent fumbles a rather off-form Saint eleven boosted itself in Conference standing by defeating the Trinity University Tigers 7 to 2. Playing in Trinity's territory, the greater part of the game, the Saints made re- peated marches on the Tiger goal but fumbled almost every time after approach- ing under the shadow of the goal posts. The Hilltopper gains came after Farr, Hertenberger, and Frisch, Saint linemen deluxe, had opened gaping holes in the Trinity forward wall. Ransom started the St. Ed's-Simmons grid classic off right by snatching the opening kickoff and racing 95 yards through the entire Cowboy team for the first Saint marker. Again in the last minute of the tilt, Figari, elusive Saint co-captain, -grabbed a punt and plowed through the Cowhands for another touchdown which netted the Saraflnians a 13 to 0 victory.
